Research phase
The first academic year is devoted to preparing the intended doctoral project. This must be presented at a faculty-wide public presentation (FöP). Before the FöP, an application for approval of the intended doctoral project must be submitted and a provisional doctoral thesis agreement concluded. The next phase involves both completing the agreed examination requirements as set out in the curriculum and writing the doctoral thesis. The doctoral thesis agreement should be periodically updated with appendices detailing progress in the studies (progress report).
